Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle 7.5 offers a redesigned SQL optimization user interface, including the ability to rewrite SQL and execute alternatives simultaneously with one step for increased productivity.

Graphical interface redesign for SQL optimization and index generation for a single SQL statement, which includes a single-step rewrite and execute alternative SQL function Options for the intelligent selection of SQL alternatives and to provide more flexibility when executing Unicode support for SQL optimization and index generation Scanner option can automatically initiate SQL scanning Enhanced reporting to support the review and distribution of SQL optimization results
New Features of Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle 7.4 - Batch Optimizer includes better organization and usability – allows you to group jobs into different folders, including the SQL sent from other quest products (i.e. Toad, SQL Navigator and Spotlight), job performance improvement statistics, enhanced user interface, and the default setting is now set for automatic optimization and execution of SQL statements
- Tuning Lab has two new options for terminating the execution of SQL statements – browse table data directly from execution plan details, directly execute a SELECT statement and view the result, advice on an index reorganization or table analysis
- SQL Scanner – gives you a summary report of the analyzed SQL and their execution plan classification
- Outline Managers – this window is now hidden by default and can be activated from a setting in the Options window
New Features of Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle 7.3: - Batch Optimizer – its user interface has been simplified – windows have been consolidated to reduce the numbers of columns that appear on the user interface and a new "Report" button has also been added
- Tuning lab toolbar updates – a new "Mark the Best SQL Alternative" button has been added, allowing you to easily replace the original SQL statement when generating the replacement script in the Batch Optimizer
- SQL Scanner – tight integration with Quest's Foglight Performance Analysis for Oracle allows users to extract SQL statements from a long-term SQL repository that was created in Quest Performance Analysis for Oracle
- Updates to "Options" – several options have been renamed and are now more user-friendly and descriptive
- Oracle Easy Connect Support – connect to Oracle using Oracle Easy Connect, so you do not need to have the Oracle client software installed when using Quest SQL Optimizer for Oracle
