Resolved Issues and Enhancements
Quest Reporter for Novell is an add-on pack for Quest® Reporter that offers administrators the ability to collect and report on Novell networks. The reports are designed to help organizations plan for their pending migration from Novell to AD. Reports are offered on User and Group directory data, NetWare File System general information, and local computer information.
The following is a list of issues addressed and enhancements implemented in this release of Quest Reporter for Novell.

| An issue with .inf files generating crashes for Scheduled Collections and Favorites has been resolved. |
TFS#64602 |
The following is a list of issues known to exist at the time of this Quest Reporter for Novell release.

Known Issue |
Change Request |
|
Deploying an RDC to a computer where Active Roles version 5.3 is installed could potentially corrupt that installation of Active Roles. |
|
| The Query button that is available in the object picker when creating object sets only applies to Active Directory. Queries cannot be performed on NDS objects. | |
|
If you connect to a tree in the object picker, the icon for the tree will not change to show that you are connected. Instead, the icon still shows the tree as disconnected. WORKAROUND: Press F5 to refresh the view. |
|
|
Adding the Total Users attribute to an organization or organizational unit report could slow down the performance of that report. |
|
| The Common Name will be blank when reporting on containers in all alias reports. | |
| Files or folders on Novell Netware 4.x servers whose names are longer than 8 characters will not be reported in any of the NWFS reports. | |
| Due to a Novell limitation, the File Server Information report might report incorrect information for the CPU Type attribute. | |
| When running a Scheduled Favorite that contains an NDS report, ensure that you are logged on to the target NDS Server when the Favorite is due to run. | |
| Loss of server connection during data collection may cause inconsistent object results. | CRs#155838, 156370 |
| If the Novell password expiration time is set to occur at midnight, the actual value is inconsistently reported. | CR#157198 |
| Repeated forced refreshes on a NDS tree may cause a MMC error to occur. | CR#170548 |
| If there is a License object inside of an NDS container, enumeration stops for several seconds. | CR#181757 |
| NDS Password Information report takes longer to collect data than other NDS reports. Novell API provided for this purpose is contributing to performance degradation. | CR#177576 |
|
NWFS-Files/Folders report cannot return the correct data if the files or folders
contain any of the following special characters:
® - Registered Trademark symbol © - Copyright symbol € - Euro monetary symbol ¬ - not sign « - Left double guillemet |
CR#211948 |
|
When you run action-enabled scripts against NDS objects, the object name must be less than 255 characters. |
CR#203683 |
|
Existing Reporter for Novell 1.1 favorites will show errors in the reporter logs. These errors can be ignored, or you can eliminate them by re-creating the favorite in Report for Novell 1.3. |
CR#210204 |
| Collecting on shared Novell printers via WMI may cause the Novell login dialog to appear. | TFS#69482 |
