Welcome to Quest Management Console for SharePoint

Quest Management Console for SharePoint is a host for Quest SharePoint products. Quest Management Console for SharePoint provides the basic discovery and management functionality that is leveraged by other Quest products for SharePoint management and migration.

General When installing Quest Management Console on Windows Server 2008 under an account other than domain administrator, the installation is performed successfully. CR#00000
SharePoint Server Discovery Now the web applications with orphaned or unresponsive sites are discovered successfully. CR#56135
The issue with occasional incorrect identification of URls for SharePoint 2007 web applications has been resolved.

In case the account under which Quest Management Console is installed has rights to connect to SQL only, the installation will be successful, but the product will fail to operate. To ensure successful operation, give the account the rights to create databases and reinstall Quest Management Console. CR#00000

 


Upgrade and Compatibility

This version of Quest Management Console for SharePoint supports upgrade from previous version.


System Requirements

Before installing Quest Management Console for SharePoint, ensure your system meets the following minimum hardware and software requirements:

Platform

Intel® Pentium® 1 GHz processor (x86, x64) or equivalent

Memory

512 MB of RAM

Disk Space

~ 30 MB of available hard disk space for install

200-300 MB of available hard disk space for logs

Operating System

One of the following:

  • Windows Server 2003 SP1 or higher (Recommended)

  • Windows Server 2003 SP1 64-bit

  • Windows Server 2008

Additional Software Microsoft .Net Framework 2.0

 

Microsoft Management Console 3.0 downloadable from http://support.microsoft.com/kb/907265.

 

One of the following:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP1 (remote or local)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 Express SP1 or higher (remote or local)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2005 SP1 64-bit

 


Global Operations

This section contains information about installing and operating this product in non-English configurations, such as those needed by customers outside of North America. This section does not replace the materials about supported platforms and configurations found elsewhere in the product documentation.

This release is Unicode-enabled and supports any character set. It supports simultaneous operation with multilingual data. This release is targeted to support operations in the following regions: North America, Western Europe and Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe.
