Welcome to DirectoryAnalyzer

DirectoryAnalyzer proactively monitors and diagnoses critical, directory-wide infrastructure issues from
replication latency to Domain Name System (DNS) inconsistencies.
Using a graphical interface, DirectoryAnalyzer provides a holistic view showing directory status.
When a problem occurs, an instant alert notifies you of its exact nature and location

Feature

Known Issue

DirectoryAnalyzer Client

The trust information fields may be hidden in the client when using resolutions other than 1024x768.

Spotlight Integration

When executing Spotlight from within the DirectoryAnalyzer client, the Spotlight client may start minimized to the task bar.

DirectoryAnalyzer Web Portal

The web based consolidator configuration found under the Admin tab may not function correctly using some browsers. If this occurs, please use the Consolidator Configurator utility.

ChangeAuditor Integration

ChangeAuditor results may be hidden or lost of the client focus is shifted to a new alert or subject while a query is in progress.

DirectoryAnalyzer Setup

 

The DASetup.exe will not display previously installed version numbers prior to DirectoryAnalyzer 4.9

 


System Requirements

Before installing DirectoryAnalyzer, ensure your system meets the following minimum hardware and software requirements:

 

DirectoryAnalyzer Client

The DirectoryAnalyzer Client connects to a DirectoryAnalyzer Enterprise Agent.

Operating System A machine running on any of the following minimum platforms:
  • Windows 2000 Professional SP3
  • Windows 2000 Server SP3
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Server 2008
  • Windows XP SP2
  • Windows Vista

 

DirectoryAnalyzer Enterprise Agent

The DirectoryAnalyzer Enterprise Agent is responsible for fulfilling client requests and consolidating and generating alerts.

Operating System Member server running on any of the following minimum platforms:
  • Windows 2000 Server SP3
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Server 2008
Additional Software Enterprise Agent Software and Configuration:
  • The DirectoryAnalyzer Enterprise Agent must be installed on a member server.
  • SQL Server 2000 SP3 or MSDE 2000 or Full and Express versions of SQL 2005\2008
  • WMI must be installed and running if a consolidator connection is desired.

 

DirectoryAnalyzer DC and Site Agent

DirectoryAnalyzer DC and Site agents can be deployed to domain controllers (DCs) to monitor conditions and events on these servers. These agents will then report all alert information to the DirectoryAnalyzer Enterprise Agent.

Operating System

Minimum:

  • Windows 2000 Server SP3
  • Windows Server 2003
  • Windows Server 2008

 

 

 


Global Operations

This release is Unicode-enabled and supports any character set. In this release, all product components should be configured to use the same or compatible character encodings and should be installed to use the same locale and regional options. This release is targeted to support operations in the following regions: North America, Western Europe and Latin America, Central and Eastern Europe.


This release has the following known capabilities or limitations: English only
